I would have liked to read about Russian morale, organization, and logistics as well, but overall a good summary

for his own political reasons

You mean the continuation of the Ukrainians as a people unto themselves with the right to self-determination?

Pretty sure the ukrainians aren't going to be genocided like the palestinians are if the Nazis controlling their government are defeated. You mw.social people have serious liberal brainworms.

Zelensky knows he's fucked he can't stop the war because the Azov Nazis will kill him, that said he just should flee the country and go live somewhere nice or the US could just stop propping up this war and feeding more innocent people into the meat grinder for its own imperial aims.

Also bonus fun fact: none of us have self determination while US imperialism and capitalism reign as the hegemonic world order. In fact this war started because the people in the Donbas tried to exercise that self determination and were victims of pogroms by bandarite nazis from the west. Russia's biggest sin was not intervening on their behalf sooner.

It's only self-determination if it's allied entirely with western hegemony, if a nation rejects western hegemony it's because China/Russia/Iran is trying to break up a nation, duh

some dipshit tried to say China did imperialism on Tibet because they liberated a literal slave state. Today over 80% of Tibetan people speak their native language while only 8% of indigenous people in the US do and the number is smaller depending on which language as there were many. Some of which are completely gone.

You realize that it’s Ukraine that banned Russian language in their country, right? Russia hasn’t banned shit about Ukraine and its culture.

Russia has been abducting and reeducating Ukrainian children since they took Crimea in 2014. Also, Ukraine isn't the one invading anyone.

When Russia is moving kids from warzones into Russia, why is the operative word "into" and not "warzones"?

Or do you think they should stand and die to cluster munitions like true slava ukraini patriots?

What self-determination? They're a US/NATO vassal at best now.

Please explain why you think sending a big chunk of Ukraine's best troops to open a front in another country that they will almost assuredly eventually lose, all while Ukraine is currently losing ground on fronts within their own borders, ostensibly helps continue "Ukrainians as a people unto themselves with the right to self-determination"?

It's called tactics! I've played Risk a bunch of times, and everyone knows you plow through north Asia, then try to sneak a bunch of troops in to hold Australia or South America until the end of the game. By expanding the size of the front, you always get a huge advantage over your better supplied and more heavily armored opposition.

Also, it makes for some AMAZING HEADLINES as NAFO liberals get gassed up on the idea of Ukrainian troops marching into Moscow before winter.

I'm not a military strategist. I'm not gonna weigh in on that. But I'm not about to tell folks how to defend their homes in the face of an invader.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Well that sucks, because that's what article is about.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It's literally not. That's one argument they make, but the article is about the West pressuring Ukraine to continue fighting. I'm fairly certain they'd continue fighting regardless.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago

I'm fairly certain they'd continue fighting regardless.

As insurgents, maybe. I doubt they'd be sending cruise missiles over the border if the US wasn't passing them out.

Okay, the 30 paragraphs about the military situation must've been a typo then.
