Retailers are staying away because the program requires them to float the costs of the discounts for up to a year. The state says it’s working on a fix.

Retailers are staying away because the program requires them to float the costs of the discounts for up to a year.

That really is a shame. However, the ones that are participating will be driving a LOT more sales than usual, so they've got a lot to look forward to.

The article also states that this program will change next year, when the rebates are issued quarterly.

If this was their way of getting rebates to consumers for THIS riding season, then it's worth the minor inconvenience to some retailers, IMO.

Too bad so many shops aren't participating. Glad that weight is 100% on the government who is offering the discount and not the shop owners who are choosing not to participate.
