Conservatives are claiming they did it to chants of "beat that fucking Jew". Obviously that would be completely unacceptable, but the video doesn't seem very convincing to me. From what I can make out, all but one of the people are screaming yeah. There's a women who is definitely screaming "beat that fucking ...". I can't make out the last word, but it sounds like two syllables, with a rising intonation on the second one, which would be a really strange way to say Jew. I also wouldn't describe it as a chant, as there's no melody. It just sounds like shouting to me.
I have absolutely no qualms about criticising anti-semetic elements of pro-Palestinian protests, and think we should keep that kind of language out of them. Shouting "beat that fucking Jew" is absolutely unambiguously anti-semetic, but I'm not going to accept the right wing version of events without clearer audio.
The people commenting there are of course accepting it uncritically, and are calling for jail and deportations, like any small government free speech advocate would. I'm sure none of them got mad that time the news said people were chanting let's go Brandon.
Edit: I watched the video in the tweet too, and it sounded like it could also be "rip that fucking ... off." I don't know how anyone can be so confident about what the woman is saying when the audio is so bad and she's drowned out by everyone's screaming. One thing I can say is that the only chanting was "Free Free Palestine".
Well they believed that one lady said the k slur when she obviously said "removed", and that that on canadian crowd was saying "Judah judah you cant hide" when they were obviously saying Trudeau
Yes. Some people in the UK also claimed that protesters in London who were clearly chanting "ceasefire now" were actually chanting "intifada" or "jihad now" until other people challenged them on it. This one is quite different though, as regardless of what that woman was saying, she was the only person saying it, and it wasn't a chant.
