What's something you used to like as a kid that you now, as an adult, realize had some pretty fucked up messaging? (hexbear.net)

For me it's Dragon Ball Z, that was a pretty fucked up show tbh.

Like holy shit, all the characters are terrible people except maybe Gohan and Trunks.

I don't know much about the author but the way he (allegedly, the VN is sitting unplayed in my steam library atm) treats Ruka is worse than the anime. I think there's a lot of "her parents wanted a girl and groomed her etc..." that goes on. Plus with that scene, (the only time Rintaro faced any sort of reprecussions) it was played as a "she made him sit on his knees, hur dur". Plus there was also a scene where he walks in on Mayuri and Makise in the shower (one of the most gratuitous examples of the male gaze by the way and it's just played as a joke. Also the "he's a guy" poem is horrible and the only scene with a black character, Rintaro is racist.

Fuck steins;gate.
