Was thinking the same thing, but it seems weird to do it in this manner. I'd think they'd want more people to witness it if it were an intimidation tactic. Given that the drill was so late at night, I am wondering if they're practicing for an operation in Cuba to kidnap Castro.

I hadn't heard about that. I remember he was said to be responsible for mass executions during and immediately after the revolution, but I'm not familiar with what the indictments would be if not that.
