I've met guys who learned English from Red Dwarf (sound Scouse) and EastEnders (sound Cockney).
For sure this is a thing.
Also a bartender who had a Scottish "regular" so spoke English with his accent (the bar was in Amsterdam).
Huge fan of Red Dwarf, what the hell is a Scouse? Is that the proper term for Smeghead?
